All of us want success in our lives. We should not neglect our health in order to spend the time with success building activities. In a recent book called Powerful People Lead Healthy Lives the author talks about a shift of power, “the emergence of safe, powerful tools for prevention of sickness and maintenance of good health.
There are 2 approaches to health: the NATURAL approach which is solution focused. You build health by looking at the whole body. The second is the MEDICAL approach or problem. ” Tell me your problem and I will tell you what medication to take. If you have side effects, there will be more drugs for that. The amount of medication a person takes rises steeply with age. A study has shown that 75% of seniors take 4 to 5 meds per day while those over 79 take 7 to 9 meds per day.
Lets Talk About PH
Our bodies thrive by maintaining homeostasis which is a constant internal environment. This involves keeping PH body fluids, blood pressure, body temperature, CO2 and O2 levels etc. all within a narrow range.
Although the mouth, stomach, and bladder must be on the acidic side, the blood and body fluids should be at 7.4 (that is slightly alkaline), for homeostasis. I have been told that if the blood PH falls to 6.95, coma and death result.
Situations That Cause an Acidic PH
-
Poor Diet
-
Polluted environment
-
Physical exertion and movement (cause the PH to drop to 7.26/27)
-
Smoking and drinking alcohol
-
Poor digestion
-
Negative thoughts
-
Spiritual distress
-
Destructive emotions
My Next Post Will Be About Foods That Cause Acidity so I hope you will join me again soon

Gloria, this is such an important topic. Thank you. FYA, an update to your statistics, The average person between the ages of 50 to 65 are using 8 to 10 individuals a year and the average person over 65 is now using 19 different unique prescriptions a year an using 8 to 10 a month! Wow!
Because of our practices and nutritional supplements Al & I have not had a prescription for somewhere between 15 and 20 years and I am almost 76 years old and Al almost 78. Healthy lifestyle and nutrition work.
You go girl!

Sandy, Thank you for those statistics. I watched a Webinar abour 2 months ago and he gave the statistics I quoted. Yours are even more amazing. I know you are right about nutrition and healthy lifestyle. I just hope some others will read my blog as I do feel it is important.
Hi Gloria~
I really appreciate you sharing this information. I noticed you said we should not neglect our health for success building activities, and I wanted to share my thoughts.
I would venture to say health begets success. Well, I guess it depends how you define success. To me, a ton of money and poor health do not equal success. I rather think of success as when our internal and external life are in balance….and when we’re living up to our potential. So to me, health is paramount.
I look forward to more of your information on pH ~ it is such an important topic. Thank you!
Yes, I agree. Health is the most important thing we can have. I like the definition of health you give as a balance between our internal and external lives.
Gloria,
Great info about how different mindsets can affect our health. I agree that stress is a huge health problem if it gets out of control.
Thanks for sharing this info with us,
Val
Hi Gloria,
Well as I’m eating a pizza pocket and sipping a coke at 11PM… is it appropriate that I’m reading your article about better nutrition?
Boy, did I need that… the article, that is!
Great information which I’m going to try to apply.
Chris
Hi Gloria,
This is awesome, you are up and running and I so love your post. There are so many things to consider when it comes to health. I am always on the go and sometimes I just settle for what I can get my hands on to eat, not wise as I know better. So thanks for reminding me.
Garth
I don’t think you alone in that habit of just grabbing anything to fill the stomach. Hope you will return. there are more posts to read.
So glad to read this post. You are a gal after my own heart! The energy we expend on our own business is greater than the 9 to 5. We are hard workers and need that energy. I find with my clients that when they tell me they eat “healthy” I ask them to explain what healthy is.
Usually I get the answer of fat free foods which are dangerous. Please keep on giving us information because this is so important. I have been a vegetarian for nearly 30 years and moved to a place where there are local farms.
My husband David Merrill and I eat local organic foods only. We maintain our health by eating for energy not the typical “American” fill the belly syndrome. People always ask us “Where do you get all the energy?” We giggle.
Also I find that stress is such an important component to the realm of things. My clients come to me because of stressful situations. If it is chronic, I refer them to certain professionals that will help. Otherwise, Diet, exercise and good humor (not the ice cream) will keep us healthy.
So excited about this post I could write a book, but I will bid you goodbye…
Cheers,
Donna Merrill

Thank you so much. I am happy to hear about your life style and hope I can keep contributing to you and to others. I have more posts so do return to the site.
Thank you so much for this important information. Now that I near 50, you have expressed what I should do and how I can live drug free and for that I thank you so much!
Your blog is powerful :O)

Please come back. I have so much more to say. A hug back to you, Lyn-Dee.
I have to say I agree with Beth. Financial success without the balance of good health and happy relationships isn’t really success. When you’re young you only ‘think’ you can get away with neglecting your health. You pay for it eventually – sometimes sooner than you might expect.
Looking forward to more great information, Gloria!
Thanks Teresa. Come back and visit. I have more.
To me it is downright scary how many
medications prescribed really end up
hurting peoples lives. I am sure that
for some it can be a very challenging
cycle to break as well.
As a matter of fact I will even venture
to say that people are pharmaceutic-ally trapped or even afraid of stopping.
Our bodies are simply amazing and if
given the chance, designed to heal using
a natural approach.
Every medication has its side effects. Our bodies are trully amazing. Thank you for your comment.
Hi Gloria,
Thanks for sharing this information with us. our health is probably the most vital thing to keep an eye on. With poor health we struggle to survive. With good health we strive to be better. Good health will fuel us in all things we do in our life and will bring a better outcome too.
I look forward to more posts from you.
I am learning as I write. Please keep coming. There are more posts now.
Gloria,
I found this post to be an eye opener. I look forward to your next post to learn more. It is amazing to me the amount of drugs doctor’s prescribe. I take a few herbal supplements and I can say my last check up was GREAT! I am not on any medication at the age of 41 and I am very thankful. It is post like yours that keep me informed.
Thanks for posting.
Thanks Jaden. Come back. There are more posts now.
Hi Gloria,
Wonderful post — short and to the point. No one is rich if they have poor health. NO ONE (Bill Gates and Warren Buffet included — just ask Mr. Buffet who lost his wife beloved several years ago to cancer)!
Frankly, we need to focus on supporting our immune systems through proper nutrition. We don’t get proper nutrition with processed foods. The very best way to build our immune system is with organic vegetables and fruit; organically fed, range grown animals; and wild fish.
All of your readers would benefit immensely by watching any number of document- aries that have come out over the last 10 years. One of the most valuable that I’ve seen is called, “The Beautiful Truth” about Dr. Max Gerson’s studies into food’s ability to help cure the body of virtually any ailment.
The documentation is quite remarkable (people sent home to die with stage four cancers — copies of their physicians findings in hand — from famous medical institutions like the Mayo Clinic, Johns Hopkins and others) return months later to these same institutions and they are unable to find ANY trace of the cancer.
Others health/diet/food documentaries you and your readers might enjoy: “Killer at Large: Obesity. . .” (2008) Bill Clinton and Ralph Nader are in it; “Super Size Me” (2004), “King Corn” (2007) and “Food, Inc.” 2008. My family and I have been able to order all these films with our Netflix subscription (we have it streaming on our computers and through our LG Blueray DVD player which streams Internet movies to our entertainment system).
There is also a book that helps explain what has been done since the 1950’s in the farming industry that has caused the onset of numerous epidemic health problems (cancer, diabetes, coronary disease. . .). If you value your health “The Empty Harvest” by Dr. Bernard Jensen will be one of the most interesting books you’ll read this year.
Please keep up the informational posts.
Joe
Thank you for such valuable information. I could probably borrow some of these at the video store.

Hi Gloria!
Thanks so much for a really inspiring post! I am fairly knowledgeable in these areas, yet, over the last few years, I have become extremely lax. Your marvelous information is inspiring me to “get with it” again! I look forward to visiting your site often! BTW, I will be hosting an ET mastermind group on Fridays at 10am. Hope that you’ll join us!
